Yesterday Buckingham Palace confirmed that the Queen would not attend the Epsom Derby today. However, that doesn’t mean that the races were without royal supporters. Princess Anne was there on behalf of her mother, along with Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips.

A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace stated that the Queen would be tuning into the Derby on TV at Windsor Castle. Zara confirmed this today. watching in her “comfy clothes.”(Of Queen’s absence, jockey Frankie Dettori noted. “It is a shame the Queen is not here but she has had a lot on this week. I’m sure she will find a television to watch it on but we are really going to miss her today.”)

Zara, on the other hand, was dressed up a bit more for the event. She wore a vibrant floral dress by Diane von Furstenberg paired with silver pumps, blue fascinator and tortoiseshell sunglasses.

Zara has been a fan of brightly colored midi dresses this week—perhaps a nod to her grandmother’s love of a neon look.

For the start of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations on Thursday, she wore a bright red outfit as documented by Mike Tindall on Instagram. He captioned the photo in part. “Really looking forward to the next four days and celebrating one of the greatest woman on this planet.”

Yesterday, Zara wore a bright pink coatdress that almost matched Sophie Winkleman’s at the National Service of Thanksgiving. This was in honor of Queen Elizabeth’s reign at St Paul’s. Both women also sported floral headpieces—Sophie with a hatband and Zara a fascinator—and neutral pumps, and carried top-handle bags.
