Wrentham Outlets changes Black Friday hours due to coronavirus concerns

Due to coronavirus concerns, one of the most popular shopping areas in Massachusetts has changed its Black Friday hours. The Wrentham Village Premium Outlets will no longer open at midnight like it did in previous years. The outdoor outlet shopping center will now open at 6 a.m. on Friday and close at 9 pm on Sunday. Chief Bill McGrath, Wrentham police, made the announcement via a Facebook post.”It is difficult to predict if large crowds will head for the Outlets on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, or if people will avoid the large crowds because of COVID-19 and space out their shopping over the weeks leading up to Christmas, during which time the same awesome sales and great bargains will continue,”McGrath posted a Facebook message. “Obviously, from a public safety perspective, we encourage spreading your shopping out over the weeks ahead.”McGrath stated that the Wrentham Police Department would be available to handle large crowds during the holiday weekend, regardless if COVID-19 concerns. The preparation includes posting the same number and closing the same neighborhoods. Wrentham Outlets will also adhere to all safety requirements under Gov. Charlie Baker’s COVID-19 executive orders. Customers will need to wear masks whenever they go outdoors or indoors, except when they are eating or drinking. Individual stores will have a limit on their occupancy and employees will be monitoring the lines outside. In addition, there will be reminders and social distancing markers. Plenty of hand sanitizers will also be available throughout property. The playground on-site will be closed and the outside benches will be removed.
