Twilight’s Bella Swan, a character from Twilight, is well-known for her laid back, girl next door style. She does have some strong looks, however, that reflect the times. It was easy to see that her style was cohesive and shared a common color palette.
Bella’s outfits are now more popular with Twilight fashion and Elena Gilbertcore on social media platforms like TikTok. Bella has a few looks which stand out from the rest.
Birthday Dress
New Moon sees one of Bella’s rare dresses. And it’s very cute. The dress is green and has black flowers that cascade down. It has a delicate bit of lace at the top, and a nice thin black belt that cinches her in at the waist. The cardigan is a short-sleeved, which was very popular at the time. It seems to be back in fashion.

Although the outfit is stunning, Bella adds Converse-esque shoes to make it more girly. It’s a beautiful, yet casual outfit.
Green Bowling Shirt
This is Bella’s first encounter with Edward. It is a memorable moment for the couple. The green bowling shirt, which is loose and buttoned all the way up, is worn over a long-sleeve gray top and some dark jeans.
A bowling shirt is classic, timeless, and tomboyish. Although the whole look is casual, it is perfect for school. It also matches Bella’s personality well. This is how you dress when you meet your soulmate. Bella is also wearing a simple hairband, which makes the look very her overall.
Prom Dress
Bella’s prom dress is a highlight of all her outfits. The color of the halter dress is almost cobalt and works well with Bella’s complexion. It is low-cut with a ruffled skirt, making it ideal for dancing. Bella adds elegance to the look by accessorizing the dress with simple jewelry, and a cream-colored embroidered cardigan.
She has one leg in a brace and the other in a Converse sneaker. It keeps with her personal style. After coming out of the hospital, comfort is definitely important to Bella, hence the Capri leggings underneath the dress, which was very trendy at the time.
Final Battle Outfit
When the Cullens are battling the Volturi in Breaking Dawn: Part 2, Bella may not be the highest-ranked in fighting ability, but she certainly looks cool. Even though they are combat boots, they don’t work well in snow. However, they match Bella’s black outfit.
Bella zips up her leather jacket for a classic look. These black stretchy skinny jeans, which Bella wore in 2012, were a popular clothing item. They suit her fast vampire self perfectly.
Big Plaid Jacket
When learning how to ride a motorcycle with Jacob in New Moon, Bella wears an oversized green plaid jacket with some mid-wash jeans. The green jacket matches the jeans well. The plaid also contains some black, which matches her black hood. And her white shirt underneath matches all the white parts of this plaid.
Bella clearly wants to look good for the Edward apparitions that appear, despite what she is doing being one of the cringiest moments for her and Edward. Overall, the outfit is casual and cute. It still looks great when Bella crashes her motorbike into a rock.
Purple Plaid Shirt
Bella wears a lot purple in all five films. She also wears a lot plaid shirts. This culminated in Eclipse when Bella wore a purple plaid shirt with a white tank top and paired it with blue jeans. It’s easy and simple, and the colors look great with her dark hair and pale skin.

The shirt works well with Edward’s scene. Bella is sitting in a field full of flowers and Bella blends in beautifully. The shirt matches Edward’s blue-grey t-shirt. The colors all blend together beautifully, creating a visually appealing scene.
Wedding Dress
Bella’s wedding gown is a show-stopper. The classic cut of the gown is classic with its long sleeves and sleek fit. The details add a vibrant touch to the dress. There is the occasional patchwork and lace moment, particularly on the back, which has an open cutout surrounded by lace and buttons. Bella’s sterling rings are perfectly matched by buttons on the sleeves.
Bella’s hair is styled in a low bun, and she has a crystal hair brooch that falls into a veil. For one of the highest-ranked romances in the Twilight saga, this dress is a great choice for their wedding.
Peasant Top
Peasant tops are a major part of Twilight fashion. The one Bella wears to New Moon is a cream color, with pretty blue embroidery. The sleeves are slightly puffy with some ruching, giving it a bohemian feel.
She paired the look with dark jeans with sneakers. This keeps her more feminine top in line with her down to earth style. She looks great in what is considered a rather embarrassing moment between Bella, Jacob.
Flannel Over Long-Sleeved Top
Bella has worn the combination of a long sleeved top with a plaid shirt many times throughout the franchise. This version however is her best. When washing her car in Twilight, she wears a red, blue, and cream oversized flannel over a baby blue long-sleeved top.
It’s ideal for washing a truck. But it still looks great with the color combination. This time, she paired the look with dark wash jeans that are a timeless staple in her closet. Her hair is pulled back into a ponytail. This hairstyle is something she doesn’t do very often so it’s a refreshing change.
Blue Dress
It was one of Bella’s first outfits when she became a vampire. It is a deep blue gown with a sweetheart neckline. The color and silhouette are perfect for her. However, the high slit on one leg makes this dress stand out. This allows Bella to move easily while hunting in woods, although it might not be practical.
Bella is not used to wearing dresses so the dress is a bit too racy. This dress is a fantastic example of how costuming can be used to visualize characters changing in movies.
