The online lingerie store was founded in 2013 and has since grown to include a variety of lingerie products. “size-inclusive”Line of undergarments includes 70 bra sizes, “half-cup”For women who do not fit the traditional model, there are sizes available.
The San Francisco-based company was co-founded by CEO Heidi Zak, formerly at Google, and Chief Operating Officer Ra’el Cohen.
ThirdLove announced that it will take a trade-in of an old bra to replace it with a ThirdLove 24-hour Classic T-shirt bra.

The T-shirt bra is the company’s top-seller, according to Zak, who was at the store for its grand opening Friday.
The retailer sells a complete range of lingerie, including bras, lounge, activewear, and underwear. ThirdLove’s undergarments were engineered for comfort, made with soft fabric, ultra-light foam padding and no aggravating tags, Zak says.
ThirdLove stated that it has donated bras in excess of $50 million to women in desperate need.

Warby Parker, a trendy eyewear store, will open a store in the Brea Mall on Saturday, February 12.
Warby Parker began as an online-only eyewear retailer. Customers could try on five sets of frames right from their homes, and Warby Parker offered a free trial. In 2013, Warby Parker moved into brick-and mortar stores.
Customers have the option to choose from a variety frames and lenses, including brown, green, and light-responsive options. They can also select non-polarized prescription lenses for their sunglasses. In-store is also available a collection for kids. the company’s website.

Frames are available without lenses starting at $95. Warby offers progressive lenses starting at $295 The cost for all of Warby Parker’s prescription eyeglasses also includes a scratch-resistant treatment, anti-reflective and superhydrophobic coatings and UV protection.
The company will also be expanding its Pupils Project for the 2021-2022 schoolyear. This project works with local government agencies and organizations to provide free vision screenings, eye examinations, and glasses to schoolchildren in California.

Lower-income families can get free tax prep and filing
Orange County United Way offers free tax preparation and electronic file for low- to moderate-income individuals and families.
Low-income Californians can use earned income tax credits that are often overlooked by the OC Free Tax Prep program.
There are three ways to file with the program:
Drop-off:Set up an appointment to have an IRS-certified volunteer income tax assistance preparer file for you.
Virtually:Upload tax documents to secure online portal using a mobile device. Or, do it yourself online at MyFreeTaxes.com
Choose a siteMore than 20 VITA sites are located in Orange County. They can be found at churches, schools, and community resource centers.
Multilingual preparers are available in most places.
The expanded California Earned income tax credit may be available to households earning less than $30,000 in 2021. This could allow them to claim hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars more in their tax returns. Filers who earn less than $58,000 may also be eligible for federal EITC.
Households that earned less than $60,000 in 2021, but don’t qualify for EITC, may still be eligible for free tax filing services.
In partnership, the city and county will offer free tax prep in the parking lot Cypress Community Park. This will be done through a mobile E bus equipped with WiFi and computer stations. Tax prep is available every Wednesday from April 6 through 6. Call 888-434-8224 to make an appointment for the E bus.

Volunteers are needed to deliver meals on wheels
Volunteers are needed to assist Meals on Wheels Orange County with its home delivery program.
This program helps older adults by keeping their homes where they are most comfortable and lessening the loneliness that many of them face every day.
Meals on Wheels Orange County provides 2 million meals each year to more than 20,000 at risk older adults. This number nearly doubled during the pandemic. It needs volunteers to deliver meals to Anaheim, Buena park, Garden Grove, Midway City and Stanton.
Volunteers pick up meals from local senior or community centers and hand-deliver them to seniors’ homes on weekday mornings. Volunteers can volunteer once a week, or more often. Each route takes approximately one to two hours.
Home visits are COVID-safe. Masks and social distancing are required. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, have their own transportation, commit to at least eight weeks of service, and be able to drive. Background checks are required.

Orange County residents are on the move
Laurie Dodge has been promoted from executive vice chancellor for academic affairs to provost of UMass Global in Irvine. This replaces Charles A. Bullock, who is retiring. On April 1, Dodge will take over the role of provost and executive vice chancellor. She is a key figure in developing the university’s academic catalog.
Susan Valen has been promoted to director of sales at Visit Huntington Beach. This is the city’s marketing organization. She was most recently the Long Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau’s National Sales Director for 13 years.
Tyson & Mendes LLP promoted Emily Meeson, a civil defense attorney, to partner from senior counsel. Meeson is based in the firm’s San Diego and Orange County offices and focuses on employment practices litigation defense, including wrongful termination, sexual harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour claims.
