I am grateful Fievel Goes West: An American TailThank you for introducing me cowboy boots. It was 1992 when I bought VHS of the animated classic. I watched it daily for the better part two years. The story is about a young mouse immigrant from Bronx, my neighborhood, and his journey into the Wild West in late 1800s, when cowboy boots were invented.

It’s not an understatement to say that I was obsessed by the film. Two years ago, my birthday parties were Western-themed. My friends and I played gunfight at the OK Corral every weekend. I rarely stepped outside my front door without my cowboy boots. I was able to get rid of them quickly, but I still treasured those boots. I became a huge fan of all things Western from that point on. I would experiment with other looks throughout the decades, of course, adding a touch of this and a bit of that, but it’s hard to miss the indelible impact that Fievel and cowboy culture had on my personal style.
I now own five pairs cowboy boots, and have parted ways with many more over the years. Not everyone has the luxury of cowboy boots. same ardor for the Western trend. It’s a style that falls in and out of fashion constantly. Cowboy boots aren’t a fashion for men who have roots in Texas, Oklahoma Colorado Wyoming and Tennessee. They are an integral part of their daily lives, a uniform. These are the people who can tell the difference between the top cowboy brands and the subpar.
