According to Louisville Business First, a few retailers have expanded at the Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass. Adidas reopened Friday following an expansion that more then doubled its area. The store, which was previously 5,000 square feet, now occupies just over 10,000 square footage at the outlet mall in Simpsonville in Kentucky. Allen stated that online orders can now be fulfilled in the store, and the shop offers a wider range of sizes.”We’re striving to have, not just your small to extra-large, but 2X’s and above a little more regularly stocked,”Allen stated that the store had a soft launch on June 30, followed by a grand opening on Jul 1. Adidas has been part of the Outlet Shoppes’ since its grand opening in 2014. It is located next to Columbia Sportswear and the Jockey. Allen would not disclose the number or investment made into the property. The press release stated that the store has openings and prices starting at $15 per hour. Holy Smokes BBQ has opened its second location across from Abercrombie & Fitch. American Eagle and Aerie both recently expanded their outlets. After an expansion that more then doubled its area, Adidas reopened Friday. The outlet mall in Simpsonville is now home to just over 10,000 square feet. It was previously 5,000 square feet.
John Allen, Adidas’ general manager, stated that the sportswear shop took over a space previously occupied by True Religion. True Religion expanded to a second suite in the mall earlier in the year.
The shop has been redesigned to offer a wider selection of products. Allen stated that online orders can now be placed in the store. Additionally, the store will offer a wider range of sizes.

Allen wouldn’t disclose the number of employees nor the amount invested in the property. Allen stated that the store has positions open starting at $15 an hr.
According to a press release, a new restaurant was also opened at the mall. Holy Smokes BBQ has opened its second location across from Abercrombie & Fitch. The restaurant offers pulled chicken and boneless turkey ribs as well as a variety of sides, desserts, and other side dishes.
