Rosemont’s Disney Store Outlet was expected to close Tuesday, March 23 after more than seven years serving shoppers.
Disney announced March 3 that it would close 60 stores in North America this year as part of plans to “focus on its ecommerce business and significantly reduce its brick-and-mortar footprint,” according to a press release from the company.
The shopDisney website store locator indicated that the Northwest suburban Disney Store Outlet located in the Fashion Outlets Chicago mall was scheduled to close on or prior to March 23.
A State Street location in Chicago will close this month. Locations at Michigan Avenue in Chicago, and Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, are expected to stay open.
The original Fashion Outlets of Chicago store, Disney Store Outlet, opened in 2013. It is located on floor one of the mall’s south end.
