CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (KDVR) — Douglas County’s first phase of reopening starts Monday, allowing for retail stores to start curbside delivery.
Friday is the day for in-person shopping
According to an updated set of orders released Monday afternoon, indoor malls are not included in the “Safer at Home” order.
Thrift shops, large retail, department, discount, and outlet stores are permitted to reopen with restrictions on Friday provided that the entrance and exit of the store open to the outdoors and not an enclosed common hallway.
“It has been like a ghost town,”Amie Shumaker, owner of Buff City soap, said.
Shumaker hopes the governor’s order will make for a bit more movement at the Outlets at Castle Rock.

Signs at the outlets ask customers to stay for 15 minutes maximum for deliveries. Customers can also contact the stores directly upon arrival.
Friday will see businesses open their doors for customers to shop in person at the outlets.
“We’re preparing the floors with tape marks so we can have everybody separated six feet as well as outside because we’re going to have wait times,”Shumaker said.
Shumaker says that each store has its own capacity limits. Buff City soap has a 12-person limit. This includes employees who make fresh products in the house.
Buff City is able to keep a maximum of half staff in the store because of the limitation on capacity.
“I think it’s going to take a while to get back to the normal day-to-day life,”Shumaker said.
Shumaker’s making the best out of this new normal by offering a new line of liquid soap to safely appeal to customers during these unprecedented times.
“We have moved more than 250 units in 24 hours,”She spoke.
The state has a list of additional requirements that stores must comply with in order to reopen. on its website.
