CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The 2022 Austin Peay State University Scholarship 5K Run for Govs will take place at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, at Emerald Hill, home of the Austin Peay State University National Alumni Association (NAA). Registration opens at 7 AM.

All participants who register will receive a race packet that includes the official 5K shirt and other items. Each participant will receive a pre-season ticket to the Nashville Predators’ game (if registered before Sept. 14), a complimentary Kings Bluff Brewery drink chip, and a Governors Football general admission ticket to the Oct. 15 Murray State home or Oct. 29 Jacksonville State home games.
If possible, APSU athletics will upgrade your general admission ticket to a club seat. Johnny Mitchell can upgrade your general ticket by calling 931-221-7329. “Community partners have always played a vital role in the success of the APSU Scholarship 5K,”Kris Phillips, Vice President of University Advancement at the APSU, said. “Our campus community is filled with fans of the Nashville Predators and all of the Governors sports teams, so we know race participants will be thrilled with the addition of these two new sponsors.”
Participants can either run in-person at Emerald Hill on the day of race or virtually on a course of choice. The course at Emerald Hill’s Pace Alumni Center is 3.1 miles in length and is certified by USA Track & Field (TN21012MS). Participants in the Virtual 5K must run their course between Sept. 1 & Oct. 1.
Pre-registration for the race costs $35 (until Sept. 29, 2014), $40 on race day, $20 for students of APSU with valid APSU ID, and $30 for virtual participation. The APSU Scholarship Run 5K entry fee is non-refundable.
Cash awards will be given to the male and female winners of the overall male and gender first, second, and third place. Cash awards will also be given to the male and female winners in the master’s division (participants who are aged 40 and older). Medals will go to the male and the female winners in the categories APSU alumni and faculty and staff as well as APSU students. Military-affiliated individuals must also indicate their categories on their entry forms in order to be eligible. Participants can only be eligible for one cash award. Virtual participants are not eligible to receive any awards.
Students will benefit through APSU NAA Alumni Group designated scholarships or funds from the proceeds of the race. During registration, participants can choose the scholarship or fund that they wish to support. Participants who do not choose a designation will have their registration fees paid to the APSU National Alumni Association Past Presidents Scholarship Fund.
