LUCKNOW: Amid protests against Agnipath defence recruitment scheme, the Association of Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP), a prominent Muslim outfit active in the field of education and employment, has appealed Muslim youths to apply to join the military services under the scheme. The outfit also urged Kanpur imams to promote the Central scheme.
The Kanpur chapter AMP has urged mosque imams to encourage young men to participate in the new scheme in their Friday khutbas. Shahid Kamran, patron at AMP, stated that his organization was promoting government schemes at all levels.
“A special appeal would be made in favour of the scheme in the mosques ahead of Friday prayers,”He added. The AMP office-bearers shared details of the scheme to the Muslim youth, saying that anyone who has passed Class 10 or 12 could apply for the recruitment scheme. Registration would begin on Friday.
