ESPN just named him and Arkansas linebacker Drew Sanders to their all-transfer team.
“Pace, who transferred from Miami (Ohio), leads Cincinnati in total tackles with 46,” Tom VanHaaren wrote. “He has 4.5 tackles for loss and 11 tackles to his credit.
“Beyond the numbers, he has become a leader for the Bearcats. Coach Luke Fickell said he didn’t expect Pace to adapt to a new system as quickly as Pace has, which has excited the staff.”
“I’m surprised maybe just in how well he’s picked things up.”Fickell spoke to media earlier this season. “He’s had to work on his attention to detail, I think that’s where he’s done a really good job. And last week was a challenge just because we play things a little bit different and we’re very disciplined in how we play some of the triple option.”
PFF also ranks Pace as the highest-rated offball linebacker in America. The senior is a relentless offensive defender who plays with controlled chaos. He ranks first in TFLs nationally, t-7th for tackles and t-6th for sacks.
He and the Bearcats take on the Golden Hurricane at 7:05 p.m. Saturday. You can watch the game here ESPNU via fuboTV—start your free trial here.
