(CNN) — Pennsylvania Democratic Senate Candidate John Fetterman returned to the campaign trailFriday night was packed in Erie after a stroke three months ago that left him less visible but didn’t seem to slow down his momentum.
“Three months ago, my life could have ended but I’m so grateful to be here tonight as well,”Fetterman thanked the crowd, and Gisele, his wife, for their support.
“Gisele saved my life,”He concluded.
According to a press spokesperson, Fetterman did not prepare remarks for the rally. His return to campaign was a significant milestone for Fetterman, who had previously only addressed a fundraiser and other informal gatherings while recovering after the stroke, which occurred just days before commonwealth’s Democratic primary.
Fetterman, Pennsylvania’s lieutenant Governor, didn’t spend much time describing his vision for Pennsylvania or his policy goals during his roughly 11-minute speech. He only told his supporters that they wouldn’t have to guess his position regarding key issues like raising federal minimum wage, protecting access reproductive care, and supporting unions, and he did not spend too much time defending Republican Senate nominee, Sen. John McCain. He did make a few jokes about the Republican Senate nominee. Mehmet Oz, saying, “There are a lot of differences between me and Dr. Oz. Who would have ever thought I’d be the normal one?”
“He doesn’t live here. He’s not about us. He doesn’t care about us,”He added that he was later convinced.
Fetterman’s voice sometimes seemed to trail at the end a thought at times. He spoke out Thursday night to CNN affiliate KDKA about his lingering issues, including auditory processing difficulties. “I’ll miss a word sometimes, or I might push two words together sometimes in a conversation, but that’s really the only issue and it’s getting better and better every day,”He said.

“He’s for Pennsylvania, he’s not a politician. He doesn’t have an agenda, and I think that his agenda is to better Pennsylvania,”Casane added that legalizing marijuana was part of Fetterman’s platformIt is one of her top priorities.
Mike Dropcho is a retired xray technician who was formerly a member of the union and said that he likes Fetterman. “down to earth.”
“He’s not some celebrity that’s just in it for who knows what,” Dropcho said. “He appears to me to be somebody that’s for the people. He’s one of us.”
Dropcho answered questions about Fetterman’s health, and Friday’s return to the campaign trail. He said that he was confident Fetterman will make a comeback.
“After working in the medical field for so long and seeing the reports, I knew he was going to pull out okay,”He said.
