Over 500 fans arrived at Fashion Show mall Friday morning for the debut of Sanrio’s newest Hello Kitty Cafe, combining only-in-Las Vegas elements with one of the most endearing Japanese characters.

The new cafe provided sweet treats and fresh merch, while the first 100 customers received a Hello Kitty goody bag. Others received a Hello Kitty magnet keychain with their purchase.
Many fans gathered even earlier than the night before to enjoy the new Hello Kitty Cafe experience. It featured freshly baked cookies, cakes and doughnuts, as well as hot and cold drinks. There was also a meet-and greet with the global pop icon.
Helen Frausto was the first person to arrive at Hello Kitty Babes Cafe. Helen is a self-confessed Hello Kitty superfan who founded Hello Kitty Babes Fan Club. It is a group made up of Sanrio enthusiasts and collectors of all ages with a shared passion. “Hello Kitty and Friends.”
Frausto, a Hello Kitty fan from Irvine, California, Mexico City, The Park on the Strip and Irvine, California arrived at 11:52 on Thursday and slept in the car overnight until Friday at 5 a.m.
“She just stands for so much for all of us,” Frausto said. “You know, a lot of people think Hello Kitty is for little kids. Oh, my gosh, no way. She just keeps us grounded, keeps us loving one another and just being kind to each other.”
Thea Paisley, a Sanrio content writer on TikTok, was also there. She calls herself “a fan club member”. “first generation collector”Because she is one-year younger than Hello Kitty, and has been collecting her whole existence.
“I’m half Japanese, so this is something that was part of just growing up as a Japanese American and having everything culturally from Japan,”Paisley regularly visits The Park’s Hello Kitty pop up cafe.
Paisley stated that while the new indoor Las Vegas cafe offers more treats, Paisley believes the cafe is worth a visit for its soft-serve icecream served in a Hello Kitty-shaped waffle cookie.
The new cafe attracts both locals and tourists. It offers exclusive merchandise such as new dad caps, a sprinkle bow hairband, and a sequin plush Hello Kitty holding. “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign.
“Hello Kitty loves Vegas, and luckily Vegas loves her back,”Jill Koch, Senior Vice President Marketing at Sanrio, said. “Creating merchandise that infuses the two has been super successful and a great thing to take home as a memento from your trip.”
The new cafe is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.
