The food court at the shopping center off U.S. 49/I-10 has been closed. It was located in a large building on the north side.
Anchored by PJ’s Coffee, the restaurant areas inside the building are cleared out out food and merchandise and the lights are off, but the restrooms and ATM are still open. The only place in the mall where people could eat was the food court.
Other dining options include pizza, salads and burgers as well as Asian cuisine.
Parent company SimonPam Meinzinger, general manger of Gulfport Outlets, stated that the space is being leased to non-food uses.
The outlets’ website shows a pop-up food truck is one option for foodWhile shopping. Other food retailers can be found at the outlets in kiosks. Archie’s Hot Island features hot dogs and cheesesteaks at a kiosk in front of Talbots. At a kiosk near Carters, Dippin Dots snacks, milkshakes, and smoothies can be found. Popcorn Island sells gourmet popcorn from a kiosk located outside the Nike Factory Store.
Gulfport Premium Outlets offers fashion and accessories from H&M and Coach, Columbia, Columbia, Under Armor, and more many other top brands.
David Simon, president of the company, said in the 2021 Simon annual report It expects to see new development and redevelopment in all 37 U.S. states it operates as well as its international locations. He stated that the company would invest in technology, e-commerce and retail brands to provide innovative consumer experiences.
