After a short hiatus because of the Covid-19 pandemic the Kedah Fashion Week returned to highlight the diverse, innovative Southeast Asian fashion scene.

The Aman Central fashion showcase in Alor Setar featured 12 renowned brands, 16 acclaimed designers, and eight innovative local designers.

Celebrity Natasha Hudson acted as the emcee when the fashion week kicked off with a showcase of local fashion designers’ work at 3pm, followed by a mall tenants’ runway at 5pm.

Icahfa and Qaira Hijab were among the participating lifestyle brands.

At the three-day event, 31 runway shows featured clothing, including sportswear.

Also, jewellery and footwear were displayed.

The talented list included Hirankrit Pattaraboriboonkul, a Thai designer, and Edwin Ao, a Filipino designer.

Eugene Chow, Hooi Ho Mun and Homun Hooi were among the rising names to unveil their collections.

The event was alive with lively exchanges of ideas among the glitterati attendees.

They included VIP guests as well media partners, sponsors, models, and fashion influencers.

Miss Global International 2022 Sandra Lim, Iday, and Kedahan celebrity Rozita Chan were among the VIP guests.

The audience and the shoppers enjoyed entertaining performances by guest artistes.

They were serenaded by Anugerah Juara Lagu 36 (AJL) singers Marsha Milan Londoh at the fashion showcase gala night and Khai Bahar on Men’s Night, while AJL31 vocalist Dayang NurFaizah performed at the grand finale.

The event ended with a special tribute. “Fashion Icon of KFW22”Eric Choong, designer, for his 33 years of service to the industry.

Belleview Group managing director Datuk Sonny Ho said at a press conference earlier that the event would inspire the region’s fashion industry.

Aman Central also organized the fashion week. “Your Bullet Train to KFW22”Contest in partnership with Sony Pictures Malaysia. The winners were able to watch not only KFW 2022, but also the Bullet Train movie.
