BRENTWOOD — A big Contra Costa County shopping center that has stayed full despite economic uncertainties spawned by the coronavirus has been bought by a group of San Jose-based investors.

Sand Creek Crossing, a retail complex in Brentwood, has been bought by affiliates headed up by three people, according to documents filed on Aug. 17 with the Contra Costa County Recorder’s Office.
The county property records show that the center, which was located in Contra Costa County’s high-profile area near a freeway interchange, was purchased for $53million. According to the county records, the buyers were Tron Denh Do, Huy Truong Nguyen, and Khang Truong Nguyen.
“Sand Creek Crossing is a strong center,”Michael Mundelius is a Colliers International vice president, a commercial real-estate firm. Mundelius handles the marketing for the shopping center.
Raley’s supermarket, T.J. Maxx department store, Ross Dress for Less discount department store, HomeGoods home furnishing and Party City are among the major retailers at Sand Creek Crossing. City Furniture, Round Table Pizza and Peet’s Coffee & Tea are other well-known merchants in the shopping center.
“All of the tenants are excellent retailers,” Mundelius said. “The tenants have done very well even during COVID.”

The shopping center is near the intersection of State Route 4 in Brentwood and Sand Creek Road.
According to public documents, the buying associates also received financing of $36 Million from Los Angeles-based CTC Bank.
“A lot of the stores are discount merchants or remained open during COVID,” Mundelius said. “Discount stores have done very well”During and after severe coronavirus symptoms.
