DENVER (KDVR) — It’s part game show, part thrifting and for many, it is very addictive. It’s bin shopping at Goodwill Outlet Stores.

Beginning at 8:30 a.m., throifters, flippers and eBayers gathered outside the Goodwill Outlet Store located on Kearney Street.
They were allowed in at 9 a.m. and took their places. This is not the first rodeo.
The huge, blue plastic containers of merchandise were rolled into. The eager bargain hunters waited for one simple word: shop.
Then, all hell broke loose. With empty shopping bags in their hands, and shopping carts in their backs, several hundred shoppers began digging through the merchandise bins with a sense dread.
“We do a sort, a rotation every 30 minutes, and we like to call it adventure thrift,”Desiree, one the managers of the store said.
This is one the three Goodwill Outlet stores in Denver, Colorado.
“This is like a madhouse. It is, these people get very aggressive sometimes you have to be really careful,”Jill Long, a store shopper, said. “I buy and sell, basically kind of what is going to sell right? I mean you just got to pick through, you have to see what is here, it’s really a crapshoot what you’re going to find in here.”
For $2.53, we found a pair of Converse Chuck Taylors in good condition. That’s $1.49 per pound.
“Sometimes you’ll find like little stuffed animals, little stuff that is really light, it’ll be like that will be like 25 cents or something that will go for $10,”Mike York, another shopaholic, said.
The merchandise arrives in large bins that are not easily sorted. It truly is like a box of chocolates – you never know what you are going to get.
All are welcome, from bargain hunters to boutique owners. You only need a sense for adventure, a few bucks, and a passion for the chase.
