CITY OF COMMERCE, Calif. (KABC) — The Citadel Outlets was this year’s biggest shopping event. There were many safety measures in place and crowds still visited the stores on Friday morning.

Shoppers are required wear face masks, and to follow physical distance protocols. Sheriff’s deputies enforce COVID-19 safety measures.
Some stores saw long lines. This must have limited indoor capacity to 25%.

Customers can queue up at the stores earlier in the morning, which reduces the likelihood of them opening later.
Virtual waitlists are offered by some retailers. This allows for expedited shopping outside of the store.
One shopper said that she liked the shopping atmosphere in this year’s Christmas.

“It’s better, I think it’s more controlled. Before it got too crazy. Now you’re like, ‘OK, we can do the Black Friday shopping,'”She spoke. “It’s good, no traffic, parking – a lot. I like that there’s a lot of security.”
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), shopping in crowded areas around Thanksgiving can increase the risk of COVID-19 spreading.
