Fall is coming and it is time for you to be prepared with the latest styles, trends, colors, and fashions. Are you unsure what to wear this season? Parkway Plaza’s marketing and business development manager Petra Rich produced a fashion show as part of their 50th anniversary celebration. This fashion show showcased the latest trends in fashion for men and women at participating stores.

Drama Kweenz, a new retailer, opened the show in this black-and white outfit.

“The event focuses on body positivity and highlighted the latest summer and fall fashion essentials,”Liese Hoffman, fashion stylist and creative direction. Model and runway coach Alex Follas, and Miss San Diego Central Althea Vadez were the hosts. Valdez was crowned Miss San Diego just one hour prior to the show, and then she rushed there to serve as an emcee.

A JC Penny model is wearing a crop top, high waisted pants, and chunky heels that could be seen on the same runway many decades ago.

The runway showcased fall colors in vanilla latte beige and saffron, blue hues and tomato red. The Pantone Color of the Year 2022 was Very Peri. This color is a mixture of deep violet and blue with red undertones. It symbolizes the uncertainty and cautious optimism that this era brings. This color graced the runway making what was once old new again. The current trends have a ‘90s vibe with a much more relaxed fashion. Models wore denim jackets, especially ripped jeans, on the runway. Vests are back in style for both women and men. Both men and ladies wore flannel shirt, as well cargo pants. Girls wore short plaid shirts and a maxi skirt. Black leather pants are still in fashion, as well as Moto jackets. Do you remember the overalls with one strap down in the ‘90s? This is just one example of many styles that are making a comeback.

Tillys gave a twist to a black and white outfit.

Drama Kweenz brought a classic black and white outfit to the runway. Parkway Plaza is the first to feature their unique fashion designs for women of all sizes and ages. Next came JCPenney, which displayed the latest trends and styles. Windsor displayed some beautiful dresses that are perfect for homecoming or special occasions. Tillys is a major specialty retailer of casual apparel. They displayed their surf and skate clothing. Tillys has a selection of vintage t-shirts and skirts that are restored and available for purchase. The show was closed by Forever 21 with their back-to school collection. They received a lot of applause from the audience.

DJ Mason Dyer played the music at the event. The 50 first people to register received a gift certificate from one of the sponsors. The event featured raffle prizes and special offers for back-to school shoppers. Jerry’s photo booth was there for extra added fun giving the guests the opportunity to take playful selfies.
