Local officials and witnesses claim that a fire broke out at Fashion Outlets mall in suburban Chicago, killing at most one person and injuring at least two others. The mall was immediately put under lockdown, and later evacuated.

An active shooter was reported to emergency services. Police officers with heavily armed weapons searched the mall. However, the suspected shooter was not found.
